Mr. Gerecke has been engaged in a general civil trial and transactional practice for over 35 years representing individuals, families and businesses in a  variety of legal matters.  He has regularly appeared in courts throughout Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois, with hundreds of jury and bench trials. 

Mediation Services

Civil and Family/Domestic Relations Mediation

Mediation is a process for resolving disputes where a trained mediator helps conflicting parties have a conversation to jointly resolve their concerns.


Over the course of the past few years, Mr. Gerecke has has attended and successfully completed over 60 hours of mediation training to prepare him for performing a wide variety of civil case mediations.  He continues to receive mediation training for different civil mediation settings.


He has completed a 23-hour course entitled "Mediation Training for Civil Cases" at the Center for the Study of Dispute Resolution at the University of Missouri School of Law in Columbia, Missouri and fulfilled the mediation training requirements set out in Missouri Supreme Court Rule 17.

 

In addition, Mr. Gerecke has completed a 24-hour course in Mediation Training at the Center for Dispute Resolution at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri and fulfilled the mediation training requirements for Family and Domestic Mediation set out in Missouri Supreme Court Rule 88.


He is an active member of the Association of Missouri Mediators.

Mr. Gerecke was born, raised and educated in Cape Girardeau and has lived here all his life.  He knows the common sense values we hold in this part of the country.    He is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University (graduating Magna cum Laude with a degree in Accounting) and the University of Missouri School of Law.  He is married to Bonnie, who is originally from Southern Illinois.  They have two children and three grandchildren.  He has been actively involved in numerous church, civic and charitable organizations.  He enjoys spending time with friends and family and rooting for the Cardinals, Redhawks and Mizzou.
